It offers the reader a workable structure, identifies roles and responsibilities of various "stakeholders" involved in a collaborative endeavor, and outlines a step-by-step process to follow. At the same time, the authors recognize that true collaboration takes place in an environment where the people involved are open to what can emerge spontaneously when people are open, trusting, receptive, creative, and honest with each other. The book's "recipe" is designed to be flexible and allows room for innovation, both planned and spontaneous.
