(More customer reviews)I'm on a shoestring budget and most of my other cookbooks aren't exactly pocketbook friendly - you know how it is, you're always missing a couple of the most important things to crank out dinner and it's stuff you can't substitute or scrounge up cash to go buy. This cookbook has changed that for me. The ingredients are things the average person has stocked in their pantry or can fudge with what they've got. You just have to add some sort of meat or veggie to make it complete. We have even planned menus for family gatherings with this book. It makes them cheap, tasty and no fuss now. I don't have to break the bank to make several side dishes and a couple different main entrees to make everybody happy. While quite a few of the recipes remind me of food my grandma would cook for a crowd, they still taste great and provide inspiration on those days when you don't have much laying around to make dinner. Definitely a keeper. I can't wait to try more Gooseberry Patch cookbooks!
