(More customer reviews)I'm not a great chef but I know my way around good soups and good soup recipes. This book means well but the recipes are just so plain and unimaginative. Its good for the beginner who has simple tastes but don't look for anything complex or stick-to-your-ribs kind of fare. Further detracting from the weak recipes are the illustrations which (unnecessarily) dominate every page. Its like they wrote this book to be more of a coffee-table style book than a true cookbook.
